New Scout Campout and Ceremony, May 5-6
I hope your son can come out Saturday, May 5 to participate in his Patrol's New Scout Campout. This is also a Troop campout with the older Patrols instructing the 1st year program. Featured topics include camp site set-up, camp cooking, fire building techniques, saw/ax safety, and HAVE FUN! If your son can't make it to the campout please try to come out for his induction ceremony starting at 8pm that night. This is a unique trail-side ceremony where the new scouts and their parents go on a short hike through the woods, concluding with you presenting your son with the Troopneckerchief, provided by Troop 59. Afterwards, we will eat some dutch oven cobbler and ice cream. The whole ceremony will end by 9:30pm. The event is held at Camp Bromelsick's Woods which is accessed through the first gate off 1400 Rd. This is a wooded campsite area with the parking lot near the campsites. Tennis shoes, flashlight, and bug spray are suggested for the ceremony.Watch the Philmont Crew 2059 on inBtween from Free State Studios
